Company Logo in Autodesk Inventor Template

Company Logo in Autodesk Inventor Template

I have come across this a number of times in supporting customers. Some customers find issues with putting a logo into there template and that when they use there template they get the following error.

The reason why we get this error is the Logo is inserted as a link to the template file and each time you use the template it is then looking for that logo file. This error will occur if:

A) Outside your Project file

B) Deleted from its original location in windows explorer

This is easily resolved.

Firstly open up the template as you would a normal *.ipt or *.iam

In the Model Browser expand Drawing resources and then Titleblocks.

Under Titleblocks right click  select “Edit” this will now activate the sketch environment in Autodesk Inventor

Select “Insert Image” from the ribbon Bar (please note the Logo has to a Bitmap)

specify location and select Image.

Now this is the important part ensure that you have the “link” tick box is unticked

Once this is un ticked the image will be embedded in to the template and no more errors

Hope this helps

Cheers ray
